Camino Portuguese - Green Light

Dr. Olga gave me the good to go...resume your walk with some advice. Blisters have healed nicely however the skin is understandably tender so:

1) lightly moisturize it nightly - do not spread it on like Nutella on toast

2) plan on walking shorter distances averaging 18 - 20 kms a day - doctors orders

3) walk a little slower especially in the first few days - will crawl on my knees if I have to. We normally walk in the 5 km an hour range...will target 4 km an hour. I guess I could try the 500 meter pace that my friend Dennis did on the Thames River Walk however that is slower than a snail!

4) if it rains and the socks get wet stop and change them...well I have 4 pairs now!

5) no more dressings as they will simply rub the skin ... so Dr. Paulo a very big thank you for your capable medical help. A special medical degree has been ordered and will be sent to Recife Brazil.
A real Camino blessing to have met Dr. Olga. She even said that if we have trouble we should call her and she will try to help. We told her we would send her a picture of us when we arrive in Santiago de Compostela...she seemed very pleased to hear this! I will be sure to wear my Tilley hat to look sharp!

Today I managed to get out and walk a bit and see a slice of the beautiful city of Porto. We even attended a short mass in the beautiful Porto Cathedral
