Be advised: the route markings in France are different from the Swiss scheme. And on the section from Geneve to Le Puy, the route is not frequently marked. It is marked only at junctions. So there can be long bits with no turns and consequently no markings. If you have access to the route description booklet from the Amis de Saint Jacques (try the cathedral bookshop or ask at the Tourist INfo in Geneva), get one.
