Arrived - Spectacular Scenery

Flight from Toronto was…well nothing happened…totally smooth. I did however have to scramble and react quickly to what could have been a disastrous start.

I left a touch early…just in case…and thank goodness I did. The plan Subway on line 2 to Kipling then hop on the AirPort Express bus to Pearson Terminal 1. However to my horror a garbled message said « security incident between Ossington and Keele stations » No ETA for resolution…I am sunk!

Quick thinking got off a next station…transferred to Line 1 to Union and then the UP express train to Pearson. Well I had to fight with the stupid ticket machine to get my ticket…did not see the down arrow on choices for « where do you want to go »! 😉

Let me tell you I breathed a huge sigh of relief at 3:30 once through Security…phew I was ok for my 9:00 flight! 😅

Leonard and I are now in Porto Covo which seems like a nice Portuguese town. We walked down to the ocean to see where we start walking tomorrow on the Fishermen’s Trail.

Weather is perfect 22C high 9C low…SHORTS walking! We (ok I do) have one significant concern tomorrow. You see at 1:10pm Portuguese time there is a little hockey game. Canada 🇨🇦 vs US 🇺🇸 for Gold! We have 20 kms to walk…our accommodation check in time is 4:00…however I managed to get consideration for 2:00. This means 1:00+ is in the bag…just smile…be nice.

So with 20kms to go maybe end of the 1st period. I MUST tell myself « it’s only a hockey game Guy ». Enjoy the walk and forget about it. Sure…why not enjoy both? 😊

As I write this the TV has the Olympics on…Portuguese announcer but who cares!

A few pictures of what promises to be a superb walk.

Our accommodation Apartamentos Campos 1…comfortable…roomy…good choice.

THE START

Hmmm…why am I referred as having a « naked mole
rat look? »

Awful stuff!

Cod and sweet potato…tasty

Lunch for tomorrow
